About
E. Angelina Woehr
Oil paints are my first love when it comes to creating. Seasons continually change, but I will always be an artist. I enjoy exploring color and shape. I am happily married to an incredible soldier and am the mom of three beautiful artists in the making. I’m an adventurer at heart and I love to travel; much of my work comes out of the time spent along this journey with my family. I often do commissioned work, and love the challenge of creating installations, establishing unique flow, and bringing life and depth to specific spaces. In addition to oils, I paint with acrylics and watercolor. At times I mix things up with a combination of painting, drawing and collage. I have been exploring clayboards, other panels with cold wax recently.
I received my degree from VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University). Over the last decade I have created work that is not just true to myself, but also approachable and inviting. I constantly walk the tightrope of being in control and letting go with my art, using different methods to accomplish my finished work. Sometimes it is blind contours, sometimes it's splatter. Then I return with a trained and intuitive eye, asking myself, "What does this piece need?" I keep following my process, until I know the work is done.
